Up until now, UC Berkeley and UCLA were the only 2 schools in the UC system which practiced individualized full file review of each applicant. The other UC campuses have been using computer formulas to admit most of their applicants. The full file holistic review process will “take into consideration a wide range of academic and nonacademic achievements, in the context of opportunities available to each student.” This method of review is very prevalent in the more selective countries around the country.
